Hi and thanks for stopping by.

Kat Rapheal is an Emmy Award winning director who defines her directing style by its emphasis on authentic emotions in real situations. After many seasons on SuperNanny and Nanny 911, not be overshadowed by raising her own daughters, it is safe to say that Kat is an expert on kids. While she is serious about the work, her approach is lighthearted and fun.

Kat is unique in that she started the biz in casting getting to learn the language of actors and understand how to get the best performance out of them.  Kat then moved to producing, first working in Los Angeles as a Casting Producer and Field Producer for Unscripted Television, (yes there are stories and yes she will share), then into advertising as both an Agency Producer and a Line Producer.

After chapters 1-3 of her career, there was still the creative itch to scratch. That is when Kat took her 25 years of “film school” and jumped in. She directs and writes commercials, branded content and documentaries. Kat is the proud recipient of a 2023 Emmy Award for Best Commercial, several AICP Pins, Gold, Silver and Broze Tellys and the elusive ManCry Award.

In her free time, Kat, a mom to three daughters, lends her talents to the Tubman Center by sharing stories of survivors of domestic violence.  As a survivor of domestic violence herself, Kat knows the strength of surviving domestic violence comes first from talking about it.   Kat also serves on the Board of Directors for Youth Performance Company, a non profit theater for young artists ages 12-22 whose mission it is to empower youth  and inspire social change through BOLD theatre.
